形態特徵

• Scandent perennial woody vines. Stem sulcate, usually velutinous, glabrous at maturity.
• Leaves ternately compound, opposite, rarely whorled, subcoriaceous; petiole tendril-like, 2.6-5.5 cm long. Leaflets 3, sometimes basal leaves simple, terminal segment 5.3-13.4 cm long, 0.9-3.6 cm wide, oblong-lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate; apex acuminate; base cuneate or obtuse, oblique on lateral leaflets; usually unlobed but 3-lobed on simple leaflets; margin sparsely serrulate, rarely entire; glabrous on both surfaces; main veins 3, nerves flat or sunken on adaxial side, elevated on abaxial side; petiolulate.
• Flowers solitary, rarely in a dichasium, 1.5-2.5 cm in diam., white, turning yellowish-brown when dry, campanulate, pendent, apex of petals recurved; axillary or terminal; pedicels white velutinous, bracts 2 or 3 or more pairs, decussate, chartaceous, subulate or linear, glabrous inside, pubescent outside. Sepals 4, rarely 5 or 6, 1.5-2.5 cm long, 5-12 mm wide, oblong or ovate-oblong; apex acute; base cuneate; white velutinous outside, glabrous except tip and margin inside. Stamens numerous, 7-17 mm long, pubescent, centripetal, inner ones shorter; anthers linear, dehiscence lateral, longitudinal; connective shorter than pollen sacs, glabrous on both sides; filaments linear, dilated near base, glabrous on adaxial side, pubescent on lateral and abaxial sides.
• Carpels numerous, white sericeous. Fruits 2.8-4.0 cm long; achenes 3-5 mm long, narrowly ovate or elliptic, convex on both sides, brown, velutinous hairs; style with pale yellow hairs bearded.

• 台灣 : Open land and forest margins in the central mountains and Alishan between 1,000 and 2,500 m.
